Job Responsibilities:

Managing the Collection:

- Receive books and other resources, ensuring all items are processed correctly.
- Enter books and resources into the library management software, label them, and shelve accordingly.
- Curate and build the library collection by creating lists of books and resources to be added.
- Lend books and other resources to students, staff, and parents.
- Conduct stock-taking at the end of the academic year and order replacements when necessary.

Managing the Space:

- Organize furniture, resources, and supplies to ensure ease of use and accessibility.
- Ensure the library space remains clean, orderly, and in good working condition.

Pedagogical Assistance:

- Collaborate with teaching staff to provide instructions on the use of library resources.
- Support teachers in instructing students on research techniques.
- Develop and maintain physical resources for each Unit of Inquiry across all grades.

Supporting the PYP Programme:

- Work closely with teachers and students to promote the IB Learner Profile and the objectives of the IB programs.




- Provide support for the successful execution of the PYP Exhibition.
- Plan and conduct weekly library sessions for PYP students to develop early literacy skills and promote a love of reading.
- Teach and encourage information literacy, research skills, and inquiry-based learning.

Additional Responsibilities:

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Head of Curriculum from time to time.

Education & Qualifications:

- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Library Science

Skills:

- In-depth knowledge of library operations, especially within a primary school context.
- Solid written and oral communication skills.
- Experience working in a PYP school environment.
- Familiarity with library management software.
- Excellent administrative, organizational, and IT skills.

Experience:

- 5 to 7 years of experience working in an international school setting.
