Job Title: Assistant Manager Share Plan Administrator Function: Human Resources Compensation & Benefits Company: Airtel Africa (AIL)
Role Summary
We are looking to hire an Assistant Manager Share Plan Administrator to join the HR Compensation team at Airtel Africa. The role will be responsible for the end-to-end administration of the company's employee share plans, ensuring accurate execution, regulatory compliance, and an excellent employee experience across multiple markets. Role is responsible for supporting the administration of employee share plans, stock options and equity awards in line with the Airtel Africa Long Term Incentive Policy.
The role holder will ensure employee share transactions are processed accurately, participant records are maintained and employees receive timely support regarding their equity awards. The incumbent will work closely with Group HR, OPCO HRDs, Finance, Payroll, and the third-party administrator to ensure effective execution of share plan processes and data management activities.
Key responsibilities
- Support the day to day administration of employee share plans, stock options and other equity based awards.
- Maintain and update employee and plan participant records in share administration systems.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across share administration platforms, HR systems and related databases.
- Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports on employee share plan activities and transactions.
- Validate and reconcile equity plan data with Payroll, HR, Finance and third-party administrators and provide accurate reports to Finance to support accounting and compliance requirements.
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews by providing required documentation, reports and supporting information.
- Respond to employee queries related to stock options, share awards, vesting schedules, plan participation and other share plan matters.
- Support the administration of grant cycles,
vesting events, exercises and other employee share transactions.
- Assist with equity-related payroll and tax reporting processes as required.
- Coordinate and maintain effective communication with third-party share plan administrators, OPCO HRDs, Payroll, Finance and other relevant stakeholders.
- Support the preparation and distribution of employee communications related to share plans and equity programs.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance data quality and increase operational efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 4 - 7 years of relevant experience in share plan administration, executive compensation, or compensation & benefits.
- Experience managing employee equity plans such as RSUs, ESOPs, stock options, or performance share plans.
- Strong understanding of equity compensation processes, taxation, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working with share plan administration platforms is an advantage.
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling employee and equity related data.
- Good understanding of confidentiality and data privacy requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong analytical skills.

- Experience working in a multinational organization with exposure to multiple jurisdictions.
- Solid project management and process improvement capabilities.
- High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and customer-focused approach.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities.
- Experience working with HR systems, payroll systems or equity administration platforms will be an advantage.
