About The Role The Lead Design Engineer (Oil and Gas) role is a strategic leadership position within the organization, primarily responsible for overseeing and directing engineering design activities across both greenfield and brownfield projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in managing large-scale engineering teams, typically comprising over 100 employees. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for project stakeholders, ensuring that design deliverables meet technical standards, project timelines, and budget constraints.

The role entails coordinating multidisciplinary engineering efforts, fostering innovation, and ensuring compliance with international safety and quality standards.

The Lead Design

Engineer will also be responsible for performance management, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication, both locally and internationally. Qualifications 15 to 25 years of progressive experience in engineering design within the oil and gas industry.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Proven leadership experience managing large teams (100+ employees) and complex projects.

Strong understanding of international standards and safety regulations pertinent to oil and gas engineering.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with global stakeholders.

Experience working in or with international markets, including familiarity with global capability centers.

Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, performance metrics, and stakeholder expectations.

Proficiency in engineering design software and project management tools.

Responsibilities Lead and coordinate engineering design activities for greenfield and brownfield oil and gas projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and standards.

Manage and mentor a large team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of design outputs.

Establish and maintain effective communication channels with internal teams, clients, and international stakeholders.

Ensure all engineering designs comply with safety, quality,



and environmental standards, conducting regular reviews and audits.

Identify and mitigate project risks through proactive planning and problem-solving.

Coordinate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to facilitate seamless project execution.

Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry best practices to enhance design quality and efficiency.

Report project progress, challenges, and achievements to senior management and stakeholders regularly.
