About SEWB :

SEWB is building an AI-powered preventive healthcare platform that combines artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, digital health records, conversational AI, clinical decision support and global healthcare services. We are seeking an exceptional Lead Data Scientist to drive our AI vision from research through production deployment.

Role Overview :

The Lead Data Scientist will lead the design, development and deployment of production-grade AI, Machine Learning and Generative AI capabilities across the SEWB ecosystem. This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring deep expertise in LLMs, RAG, AI agents, predictive analytics, healthcare AI and MLOps. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, Clinical Advisors and Executive Leadership to build safe, scalable and commercially valuable AI solutions.

Experience :

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
- 3+ years leading AI initiatives or mentoring technical teams.
- Experience delivering enterprise-grade AI solutions in production.
- HealthTech, Digital Health or regulated industry experience highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead AI strategy and execution across SEWB products.
- Design, develop and deploy ML, Deep Learning and Generative AI solutions.
- Build, optimise and evaluate LLMs, RAG pipelines, AI agents and conversational healthcare assistants.
- Develop predictive models for health risk, wellbeing insights, recommendations and clinical intelligence.
- Establish AI architecture, governance, explainability, observability and responsible AI practices.




- Work with Product Management to evaluate current AI opportunities and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate with Data Engineering and MLOps to productionise models.
- Mentor Data Scientists and review code, experiments and model performance.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security and healthcare standards.

Technical Skills :

- Python (expert), SQL, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
- Generative AI, Prompt Engineering, Fine-tuning, RLHF awareness.
- LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, OpenAI APIs and MCP concepts.
- Vector databases including Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate or ChromaDB.
- MLOps using MLflow, Airflow, Kubeflow, Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD.
- Cloud platforms (Azure preferred), AWS or GCP.
- REST APIs, FastAPI and model serving.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability (FHIR, HL7) preferred.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science or related discipline.
- Experience with multimodal AI, medical imaging, speech AI or time-series analytics.
- Publications, patents or open-source AI contributions are advantageous.

First 90-Day Deliverables :

- Understand the SEWB platform and AI roadmap.
- Review current AI architecture and recommend improvements.
- Deliver an enterprise AI architecture and model governance framework.
- Develop at least one production-ready AI capability.
- Establish AI evaluation metrics, monitoring and guardrails.

Success Metrics :
