Job Title: Lab Incharge (Mass Communication)

Department: Mass Communication / Journalism

Reports To: Head of Department (Mass Communication)

Job Summary The Lab Incharge (Mass Communication) will be responsible for the effective management, maintenance, and operation of the department's media laboratories, including TV Studio, Radio Studio, Photography Lab, Video Editing Lab, Computer Lab, and Media Production facilities. The incumbent will provide technical support to faculty and students during practical sessions and ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of all media equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of the TV Studio, Radio Studio, Photography Lab, Editing Lab, and Media Production Lab.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and ensure the proper functioning of audio-visual and multimedia equipment.
- Assist faculty during practical classes, workshops, and laboratory sessions.
- Prepare laboratories before practical sessions and ensure all equipment is operational.
- Maintain inventory records of cameras, microphones, lighting equipment, tripods, computers, and accessories.
- Issue and receive media equipment from students and faculty while maintaining proper records.
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs of laboratory equipment.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of all laboratory equipment.
- Install and update multimedia software, video editing software, and operating systems.
- Assist in organizing media productions, institutional events, seminars, and live streaming.
- Maintain cleanliness and security of laboratories and studios.
- Prepare utilization reports, stock registers, maintenance logs, and annual equipment verification reports.




- Ensure compliance with institute policies regarding laboratory usage and safety.

Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Electronic Media, Multimedia, Broadcast Technology, or a related discipline.
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Master's degree in Mass Communication or Media Studies.

Experience
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in handling media laboratories, TV studios, radio studios, or multimedia production facilities.
- Experience in an educational institution will be preferred.

Salary As per qualifications, experience, and institute norms.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
