We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Purchase Engineer from a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering background. This role is ideal for candidates with 2-4 years of experience who possess robust technical understanding, good negotiation skills, and a willingness to learn. The role involves supporting end-to-end procurement activities - from sourcing vendors to coordinating material delivery- ensuring timely availability of quality materials, evaluating supplier performance, maintaining purchase records, and contributing to cost optimization and process improvement within the manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Assist in identifying, evaluating, and onboarding suitable suppliers for raw materials, components, and services.
- Request and compare quotations, negotiate prices, and support cost-effective procurement decisions.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely follow-up for material delivery.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and stores departments to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Maintain vendor records, purchase documentation, and MIS reports.
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery timelines, and compliance.
- Support in resolving material discrepancies, delays, or quality issues with suppliers.




- Track inventory levels and assist in planning procurement to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, quality standards, and company guidelines.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to sourcing, cost control, and vendor development.

Key Skills:

- Strong understanding of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Basic knowledge of procurement procedures and supply chain operations.
- Good negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP systems (added advantage).
- Strong analytical and documentation skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings/specifications.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Time management, follow-up skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred Background:

- Diploma/BE in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-4 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain.
