Unlike a mass BPO call center, The Nepo Team functions as a specialized, boutique execution pod. We focus entirely on high-value global accounting, meticulous bookkeeping, and compliance delivery utilizing cutting-edge cloud accounting ecosystems (Xero, QuickBooks Online, MYOB, Hubdoc, Dext).
Position Overview
We are seeking a sharp, highly process-driven, and meticulous Junior Bookkeeper to join our production floor in Noida.
In this role, you will handle the day-to-day execution of high-volume bookkeeping, daily bank reconciliations, accounts tracking, and Australian compliance support. You will work directly under the guidance of our Finance Manager and Senior Specialists, operating within an ironclad internal quality-assurance and peer-review system to ensure 100% data integrity before client files hit the Australian market.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENT CHECKLIST (DO NOT APPLY IF UNMET)
To qualify for an interview, candidates must meet both of the following hard criteria:
1. Minimum 1 Year of Direct Australian Accounting/Bookkeeping Process Experience (BAS, GST, PAYG, Superannuation).
2. Minimum 1 Year of Active, Daily Hands-On Experience using Xero.
(Applications missing either of these two items will be automatically filtered out).
Key Responsibilities
1. Daily Financial Tracking & Ledger Maintenance
- Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations: Perform daily and weekly reconciliations of multi-currency bank accounts, credit card accounts, and merchant payment feeds inside Xero and QuickBooks Online.
- General Ledger Integrity: Post routine journal entries, check transaction allocations,
and maintain accurate debit/credit allocations in accordance with double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Month-End Data Preparation: Gather supporting schedules, organize ledger records, and cross-check general ledger accounts to support smooth month-end and year-end closing cycles.
2. Transactional Accounts Payable (AP) & Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Invoice & Expense Processing: Manage receipt and invoice ingestion workflows utilizing automated receipt capture tools (Hubdoc, Dext), verifying tax codes, and processing supplier invoices accurately.
- Credit Control Operations: Generate polished client invoices, track daily incoming receipts, and execute standardized, professional follow-up procedures for overdue debtor balances.
3. Australian Payroll & Compliance Support
- Payroll Processing Support: Collect and review employee timesheets, track leave requests, and assist with processing payroll runs in compliance with Australian Fair Work regulations.
- STP & Superannuation Tracking: Assist in compiling data inputs for Single Touch Payroll (STP Phase 2) reporting and cross-checking quarterly Superannuation contribution ledgers.
- BAS Workpaper Preparation: Organize digital documentation, cross-reference purchase/sales registers, and assist senior accountants with Business Activity Statement (BAS) and IAS preparation in accordance with Australian Taxation Office (ATO) guidelines.
4. Digital Administration & Quality Standards
- Paperless Governance: Maintain a hyper-organized, paperless digital filing system, protecting client data confidentiality with absolute discipline.
- Peer-Review Collaboration: Actively participate in the floor's internal quality control loopabsorbing feedback from Senior Specialists during daily file audits to continually refine ledger accuracy.
Candidate Qualifications & Requirements Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Xero Mastery (NON-NEGOTIABLE): At least 1 year of active, daily functional experience navigating Xero. (Holding an active Xero Advisor Certification is a major advantage).
- Australian Domain Knowledge (NON-NEGOTIABLE): At least 1 year of hands-on experience handling Australian accounting processes including BAS/IAS prep, GST rules, PAYG, and Superannuation.
- Education: Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com / B.Com Hons) or equivalent finance background. (Pursuing or holding qualifications such as CA-Inter, ACCA Part-Qualified, M.Com, or an MBA in Finance is a major advantage).
- Overall Experience: 1 to 3 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience within a structured KPO, BPO, or shared-services outsourcing environment serving international clients.
- Tools & Data: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Comfortable with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and data validation routines).
- Communication: Clear, professional verbal and written English communication skills suitable for international corporate coordination.

- Shift Timing: Fixed Australian Business Hours Starting strictly at 6:00 AM IST onwards. (Enjoy having your afternoons and evenings completely free!).
