Job Summary
The integration Engineer is a qualified, practitioner responsible for applying knowledge and expertise within the field of powertrain integration testing and validation . This role involves understanding of EV powertrain components like Battery, BMS, VCU, OBC, MCU..etc and deriving testing cases of component level as well as of integrated power train systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand product specification, HV and LV interfaces and functional/performance requirements.
- Prepare test set ups and integration bench set up.
- Prepare time plan , test procedures, and test reports for components(Battery, Motor, OBC, VCU..etc) as well as for integrated power train systems.
- Prepare test cases to validate SW , HW performance at various operating conditions .
- Identify corner cases to validate worst case use cases.
- Validate electrical and EMI/EMC performance and functional compliance to homologation.
- Validate communication interfaces (CAN) and Diagnostics protocols(UDS) .
- Prepare fault matrices and validate the same .
- Battery performance validation
- Drive train performance Validation for max power, gradability, range ..etc
- Integrated system validation and requirement verification.
- Validate various battery functions like SOC, SOH, SOP, Capacityetc
- Perform abuse, stress, thermal, and safety limit tests
- Vehicle level performance testing and diagnostics
- Collaborate with CFT for validation activities.
- Documentation and CAN log analysis .
- Conduct root cause analysis on failed components or unexpected behaviours.
- Involve in DVP finalisation with customer .
- Shall lead team of 2-3 engineers
Technical Competence: -
- Understanding of Electric vehicle architecture and performance characteristics. (L, M, N category)
- Understanding of EV component functionalities and performance requirements .This shall include Battery, VCU, Motor controller, motor, Chargers. Etc
- Hands on experience and knowledge of sensors used in automotives . • Expertise in preparing DVP&R; against customer requirement and homologation requirements. Well aware of regulations and legal requirements for EVs in domestic and international market.
- Understanding of Electric Vehicle ECUs for various functions. Positive Knowledge on Hardware and Software components of ECUs.
- Hands on Experience of understanding CAN protocols (SAEJ1939,ISO14229, ISO 11898) ,CAN bus architecture and IVN requirements.
- Hands on experience in developing CAN matrix and CAN dbc for Powertrain .
- Hands on experience in using CAN tools for debugging and analysis.(CANalyser, CANoe..etc)
- Understanding on Structured SW architecture, OTA, FOTA, Flash Boot loader,EOL..etc.
- Good understanding of EMI/EMC and Electrical requirements, Design aspects and Validation requirements.
- Experience on using testing equipment like HIL set up, DSO, Multimeters, RLC meters, Logic analyser Spectrum analyser, Function generators and CAN tools like CAN Analyser, CANoeetc
- Understanding of existing and upcoming charging protocols.
- Knowledge of Various Cell chemistries and cell characterisation, parametrisation understanding
- Exposure to HV systems and understanding of HV safety
- Understanding of Functional safety, Cyber security would be added advantage
- Understanding of Problem solving tools like fish bone, why-why analysis , 8Ds, would be added advantage.
