About the role
We're hiring an Integration Engineer to build and maintain the connections between systems that were never designed to talk to each other, and to keep those connections reliable once they're live.
This is hands-on work. You'll be moving data between APIs, databases and file feeds, figuring out why a partner's payload changed shape overnight, and building the error handling that stops a silent failure from becoming a client problem. If you like the puzzle of making mismatched systems agree with each other, you'll enjoy this.
What you'll do
Design, build and maintain integrations using REST and SOAP APIs
Work with JSON and XML payloads, including transformation and validation
Write and optimise SQL, stored procedures and database views
Build and support file-based integrations over SFTP, including CSV and XML processing
Implement webhooks and status callbacks, and handle authentication and certificate-based connectivity
Document interfaces clearly using Swagger and OpenAPI
Test thoroughly with tools like Postman before anything reaches production
Build the logging, monitoring and error handling that makes troubleshooting fast when something breaks
What we're looking for
3+ years building system integrations in a professional setting
Solid experience with REST and SOAP APIs, and with JSON and XML
Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL or a similar database, including stored procedures, views and query writing
Comfort with at least one of Java, C#, .NET, Node.js or Python
Familiarity with Git and version control practices A methodical approach to error handling, logging and troubleshooting
Explicit written communication in English, since you'll be documenting your work and coordinating with people in other timezones
You don't need every item on this list. Depth in integration work matters more than ticking every box, and we'd rather hear from someone strong in most of it than not hear from you at all.
Nice to have
Experience integrating with third-party or client-owned systems where you don't control both ends
Exposure to message queues or event-driven patterns
Experience working with international clients or distributed teams
