About the Role:
Mechanical Energy System is looking for CNC Operators (Fresher and Experienced) to join our production team in Howrah. Both freshers with relevant training/diploma and experienced candidates with hands-on CNC machine experience are welcome to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines (Lathe/Milling/VMC as applicable) to produce precision-machined components
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job specifications
- Set up tools, fixtures, and machine parameters before production runs
- Load raw materials and monitor machining process for accuracy and quality
- Perform basic quality checks using measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, micrometer, etc.)
- Identify and report machine faults, tool wear, or quality deviations
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the machine and work area
- Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintain production records and daily output reports
Candidate Requirements
Freshers:
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Machinist, or related trade (Not necessary)
- Basic understanding of CNC machines and engineering drawings
- Willingness to learn and work in a shop-floor environment
Experienced (up to 3 years):
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Not necessary)
- Hands-on experience operating CNC Lathe/Milling machines
- Ability to read technical drawings and set tool offsets
- Basic knowledge of G-codes/M-codes is a plus
- Experience with measuring instruments and quality checks
Skills Required
- Attention to detail and precision
- Basic mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work in shifts, if required
- Good communication and teamwork skills
