Housekeeping Executive

Job Purpose

To support the Housekeeping leadership team in ensuring high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control across the hospital, while effectively managing housekeeping staff and outsourced partners as per defined SLAs.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Service Delivery

- Prepare duty rosters and work schedules based on daily operational requirements
- Conduct daily inspections of hospital areas to ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards as per SLAs
- Monitor attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance of outsourced housekeeping staff
- Take regular floor rounds and ensure proper cleaning of rooms, wards, OPD, ICU, and public areas
- Ensure proper cleaning and hygiene of waste collection areas, trolleys, and central storage
- Coordinate with housekeeping vendors/business partners for manpower availability
- Attend and resolve housekeepingrelated complaints within defined TAT

Quality & Infection Control

- Participate in NABH, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure adherence to hospital infection control protocols and patient safety standards
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance activities
- Participate in awareness programs, drills, and campaigns related to cleanliness and hygiene

People Management & Training

- Conduct daily briefings and onjob training for housekeeping staff
- Assist in planning and executing the housekeeping training calendar
- Support staff during absenteeism or leave situations as per operational needs





Finance & Inventory Control

- Maintain prescribed par levels of housekeeping consumables and cleaning chemicals
- Monitor linen and uniform inventory to minimize pilferage and wastage
- Ensure optimal utilization of housekeeping resources for cost control

Continuous Improvement

- Suggest innovations and improvements in housekeeping processes
- Stay updated with new housekeeping practices, equipment, and technologies
- Perform any other duties assigned by the HOD from time to time

Key Skills & Competencies

- Knowledge of hospital housekeeping procedures and infection control protocols
- Solid supervision, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of HIS or reporting systems
- Patientcentric approach with attention to detail
- Team management and coordination abilities

Education & Experience

Qualification:

- Graduate (Mandatory)
- Degree in Hospital Management or Hospitality (Preferred)

Experience:

- 2 to 8 years of experience in housekeeping
- Prior experience in hospitals or large hotels preferred
- Experience handling outsourced manpower is an advantage

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

- Patient satisfaction scores related to cleanliness
- Number of complaints pending beyond TAT
- Compliance with training schedules
- Audit and infection control compliance scores

Working Conditions

- Shiftbased duty
- Hospitalwide coverage (IPD, OPD, ICUs, wards, common areas)
