Role & responsibilities :-

- Verify patient identity and explain diagnostic procedures.
- Obtain relevant medical history.
- Prepare patients for neurological diagnostic tests.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure.
- Conduct Electroencephalography (EEG) studies.
- Assist with Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS).
- Perform Evoked Potential (EP) tests (Visual, Auditory, and Somatosensory).
- Assist with long-term EEG monitoring and video EEG procedures.
- Support intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (where applicable).
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain neurodiagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine quality checks and troubleshooting.
- Report equipment malfunctions for repair.
- Observe patients during procedures for any changes in neurological status.
- Recognize seizure activity or other abnormal events.
- Notify the neurologist immediately if urgent findings or patient deterioration occur.
- Record test data accurately.
- Label and store diagnostic recordings.
- Prepare preliminary technical reports for neurologist review.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and documentation according to hospital policies.
- Follow infection prevention and control protocols.
- Clean and disinfect electrodes, cables, and equipment.




- Dispose of biomedical waste according to hospital guidelines.
- Schedule diagnostic procedures.
- Coordinate with neurologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist in emergency neurological investigations when required.
- Ensure diagnostic procedures follow established protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records.

Key Skills Required

- Knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology
- Proficiency in EEG, EMG, NCS, and EP procedures
- Attention to detail and accurate documentation
- Strong communication and patient care skills
- Ability to recognize neurological emergencies
- Equipment handling and troubleshooting
- Basic computer and medical record management skills

Typical Qualifications:-

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Neuro Technology, Neurodiagnostic Technology, or a related allied health field.
- Training or certification in EEG and other neurodiagnostic procedures (as required by the employer).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is often preferred.
