Role & Responsibilities

We are looking for a hands-on Mill Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Moong processing facility.

This is not a desk-based management role. The successful candidate is expected to spend the majority of the day on the shop floor, driving production, inventory accuracy, quality, and operational discipline.

The role requires complete ownership of production, inventory, warehouse operations, dispatch, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead day-to-day mill operations to achieve production, quality, and dispatch targets.
- Plan daily production based on pending customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Ensure accurate inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Minimize inventory mismatches, WIP build-up, process losses, and material leakage.
- Monitor production yield and investigate production and inventory variances.
- Supervise warehouse operations including inward, storage, stock movement, and dispatch.
- Ensure timely dispatch of customer orders in coordination with the sales team.
- Implement and maintain SOPs across production, warehouse, and inventory operations.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification and inventory reconciliation.
- Coordinate closely with procurement, sales, quality, maintenance, and finance teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in productivity, housekeeping, inventory accuracy, and process efficiency.
- Lead, train, and develop production supervisors, operators, and warehouse personnel.
- Monitor machine utilization, breakdowns, downtime, and coordinate preventive maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, housekeeping, and workplace safety standards.
- Prepare and review daily operational MIS, production reports, inventory reports, and key operational KPIs.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement practical solutions to improve efficiency and profitability.

Preferred Candidate Profile





- 8-15 years of experience in manufacturing operations.
- Experience in Dal Mills, Rice Mills, Flour Mills, Grain Processing, Food Processing, FMCG Food, Feed Mills, or Edible Oil industries preferred.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Production Planning
- Inventory Management
- Warehouse Operations
- Dispatch Planning
- Production Scheduling

- Experience working with ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing production and warehouse teams.
- Hands-on approach with willingness to spend most of the working day on the shop floor.
- Experience in implementing SOPs and driving operational improvements.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Kaizen, TPM, or Continuous Improvement will be an added advantage.
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Food Technology, Agriculture, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
