The Opportunity The Head
People & Culture is responsible for leading the school's people strategy and creating a high-performing, inclusive, and values-driven culture that supports academic excellence and operational success. This role will oversee the full employee lifecycle, including workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and employee engagement.
The successful candidate will act as a strategic business partner to the leadership team, ensuring that people practices align with the school's vision, values, and long-term objectives while fostering an exceptional employee experience.
The Role Strategic People
Leadership
Develop and implement the People & Culture strategy aligned with the school's vision and strategic objectives.
Partner with the Head of School and senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and talent strategy.
Provide strategic HR guidance to leaders on people-related matters.
Drive initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
Talent
Acquisition & Employer Branding
Lead end-to-end recruitment for academic, leadership, and professional services roles.
Develop talent acquisition strategies to attract high quality local and international talent.
Build and strengthen the school's employer brand across multiple recruitment channels.
Oversee onboarding and induction programs to ensure a seamless employee experience.
Employee
Relations & Culture
Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive workplace culture.
Lead employee engagement initiatives and wellbeing programs.
Provide guidance on employee relations matters, conflict resolution, disciplinary procedures, and grievance handling.
Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the school community. Performance & Talent Management
Design and oversee performance management frameworks.
Support leaders in setting objectives, conducting performance reviews, and developing high-performing teams.
Lead succession planning and talent development initiatives.
Identify leadership development opportunities across the organization.
Compensation & Benefits
Review and recommend competitive compensation and benefits programs.
Support salary benchmarking and annual compensation reviews.
Ensure payroll coordination and perks administration are managed effectively. HR Operations & Compliance
Oversee the complete employee lifecycle, including onboarding, contracts, confirmations, transfers, promotions, and exits.
Ensure compliance with labour laws, statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and internal procedures.
Maintain accurate HR records and oversee HRIS administration.
Develop, review, and implement HR policies and procedures.
Expatriate
Management
Manage recruitment, onboarding, relocation, visa coordination, and ongoing support for expatriate employees.
Ensure compliance with immigration and employment regulations relating to international staff. HR Analytics & Reporting
Develop HR dashboards and people metrics.
Analyse workforce data to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor recruitment, retention, engagement, absenteeism, and turnover trends.
Present regular HR reports to senior leadership. Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the People & Culture team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Drive HR transformation and process improvement initiatives.
The Person: Qualifications and Experience Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
Master's degree or MBA in Human Resources preferred.
CIPD, SHRM, XLRI, or equivalent professional HR qualification is desirable.
10+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
At least 5 years in a senior HR leadership role.
Experience within an international school, education sector, or a service-oriented organization is highly desirable.
