Background

Madhya Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (MPSSDI) is a flagship program of the Government of Madhya Pradesh,being implemented by MPSeDC-a registered society under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The program aims at creating a centralized repository of standardized GIS/ satellite imagery data of the State.The repository acts as a single source for discovery and electronic access to spatial data by authorized users of the State. The program also envisages development of efficient systems for increasing the technology out reachto grass root level users who can be benefitted in informed decision making using GIS technology as a decision support tool. In order to develop customized GIS based decision support systems for the state users,extensive user sensitization,requirement gathering and subsequent documentation needs to be carried out.

JobDescription

- Direct and supervise a team of GIS/IT and Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry Project Managers while ensuring MPSSDI services meetother department needsand quality requirements.
- Lead and mentor project managers and complex project teams.
- Develop andmanageproposals,budgets,schedules,billings,andtechnical documents.
- Lead Business Development for GIS/IT and remote sensing services,and maintain strong relationships with other governments departments.
- Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders.
- Effectively interface with consultants and any other business relationships associated with projects.
- Maintain strong relationships with teammates and other seniorofficials.
- Develop and conduct presentations to seniors and other stakeholders.




- Effectively interface with consultants and departmental teams.
- Periodic review of team.
- Assess the risks of various solutions.
- Coordinate project delivery by participating in design reviews and walk-throughs to communicate systems designs and validate proposed solutions.
- Solution Architecting for various domain Projects using Data,Software,Processes, Networking, Web based Solutions.

Full time Post Graduation degree in Geology / Geo-informatics / Remote Sensing / Geography / Workplace Science/Spatial Information Technology/ Geomatics/GIS/Remote Sensing and GIS/ Geo-spatial Technology.

Work Experience Minimum 8 years of experience in the implementation of Remote Sensing and GIS related projects with minimum 3 years’ experience on the position of manager / project lead in any government organization or GIS based Industry in the implementation of projects related to Remote Sensing/ photogrammetry/GIS.

Desirable skills & Experience:-

- Experience with project management, including planning,effort estimationand scheduling of GIS based projects.
- Managing end to end Remote Sensing/ GIS based projects, especially development of web based Spatial Decision support Systems, 3D analytics, Geo-data analytics.
- ExperienceinQA/QCofGISdatasets

Skills:

- Clear understanding of GIS systems,data usability and globally recognized data standards & protocols
- Be able to provide GIS data-related technical guidance and lead project teams
- Be able to understand emerging GIS technologies and their application to improve services
- Be able to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound, well-structured recommendations
- Strong leadership, mentoring, team building and communication skills.
