Background

Madhya Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (MPSSDI) is an important division of the Government of Madhya Pradesh, being implemented by MPSEDC Ltd. under the department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The division aims at creating a centralized repository of standardized GIS / satellite imagery data of theState.There pository acts as a single source for discovery and electronic access to spatial data by authorized users of the State.Creation of repository is being done by way of in-house creation of recent data as well as collating the existing GIS data available with the state.

JobDescription

- Guide resources on efficient usage of available open source/proprietary GIS/Image processing software.
- Document and implement Standard Operating Procedures for GIS data creation and analysis.
- Oversee implementation of project data creation activities and ensure data QA/QCprocedures.
- Designs and edits GIS data for numerous projects.
- Maintains data integrity and accuracy.
- Develops sustain able systems of collecting and managing data points.
- Manages necessary hardware and software.
- Delivers training and technical support to end-users.

Profile

Essential Criteria

Qualification:

Full time Post-graduate degree in GIS/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics/ Agriculture/ Environment/Geology/ Geography/Planning/ Architecture/ Computer Application.

OR

Graduate in Engineering/Architecture/Planning with Full time Post graduate diploma in RS/GIS/Geo-Informatics.

Experience:

- Minimum 2 years of experience in GIS / Remote sensing based technology implementations/ providing solutions.
- Hands-on experience on building query, topology, network dataset creation etc in different GIS software preferably in QGIS.
- Hands-on experience of field survey using DGPS.

DesirableQualifications,Skills& Experience

Experience:

- Experience in QA/QC of GIS datasets.
- Hands on experience of village map digitization in AutoCAD and other GIS software & satellite image interpretation.

Skills:

- Ability to provide GIS related technical guidance and assistance to project teams
- Clear understanding of land record systems of Madhya Pradesh
- Ability to adopt emerging GIS and remote sensing related technologies
- Strong leadership and team-leading skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Hindi and English languages.
