Job Title: GL Accountant

Role Summary The GL Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy of financial reporting, performing month-end and year-end closing activities, and supporting audits. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and good knowledge of accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis.

Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaid expenses, provisions, amortisation, etc.).

Perform month-end and year-end closing activities within deadlines.

Review and reconcile bank statements, vendor/employee accounts, and intercompany transactions.

Assist in preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L;, Cash Flow).

Ensure compliance with accounting standards (Ind AS/IFRS/GAAP).

Support statutory, internal, and tax audits by providing schedules and documentation.





Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.

Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.

Coordinate with AP, AR, Payroll, and other departments to ensure accurate postings.

Support management with ad-hoc financial reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally/NetSuite).

Advanced MS Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.).

Positive analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

CA Inter / CMA Inter (optional)

Experience in shared service environment or corporate accounting

Knowledge of GST, TDS, and other statutory compliances
