We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gastroenterologist to join our specialty team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with conditions related to the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and liver, and performing both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and manage disorders of the digestive system including:
- Acid reflux, ulcers, IBS, IBD (Crohn's, ulcerative colitis)
- Liver diseases (hepatitis, cirrhosis)
- Pancreatic and biliary conditions
- Perform procedures such as:
- Upper GI endoscopy (OGD scopy)
- Colonoscopy
- ERCP
- Sigmoidoscopy
- Capsule endoscopy (if available)
- Evaluate and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging reports
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Surgery, Oncology, Radiology) for holistic care
- Counsel patients on preventive GI care and lifestyle changes
- Maintain patient records,
reports, and prescriptions as per hospital protocol
- Participate in on-call rotations, CMEs, and hospital committees as required
Key Requirements:
- DM or DNB in Gastroenterology from a recognized institute
- Valid MCI/State Medical Council registration
- Proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures
- Robust clinical acumen and decision-making abilities
- Excellent patient interaction and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in managing ICU/critical GI cases
- Exposure to hepatology and liver transplant cases (preferred, not mandatory)
- Comfortable using EMRs and reporting software
- NABH/JCI hospital experience is an advantage
