I'm hiring for the founder's office at Sustvest. This person works directly with me.
We build and own solar power plants — rooftop and ground-mount — for industrial clients across India. Manufacturing plants, tea estates in Assam, paramilitary installations under SECI. We've crossed 30 MW+ deployed and ₹100 Cr of solar assets, and we're scaling fast. Backed by IPV, Antler and WEH ventures.
Small team, mostly young, and we work hard. There's more ground to cover than there are people to cover it.
What this role actually is
You'll work on whatever is most significant that week. That's genuinely the . In practice it looks like:
- Sitting in on investor, client and vendor conversations — then owning the action items that come out of them
- Chasing internal teams (EPC, finance, compliance) for answers I need before a meeting, not after
- Building the deck, the model, the tracker, the one-pager — whatever the situation needs
- Coordinating with our lawyers, CAs, lenders and insurers on live matters
- Keeping my calendar, inbox and follow-ups tight so nothing slips
- Site visits when required — Gurugram, Punjab, Karnataka, Assam
I'm not looking for someone who only executes. If you think a process is broken, I want to hear it and I want you to fix it. The best people in this seat end up changing how we do things.
Where it goes
This is a launchpad, not a permanent seat. As we scale, this role transitions — into business development, project finance, operations, strategy, whatever you turn out to be good at and want to build. That's the deal: you give us range now,
we give you a function to own later.
Who I'm looking for
- 0–3 years of experience. I care more about how you think than where you've worked.
- You write clearly. Short emails, no fluff, correct the first time.
- You're comfortable with numbers and Excel. You don't need to be a finance person, but a P&L; or a project IRR shouldn't scare you.
- You have opinions and you bring them up.
- You follow up without being asked twice.
- You're okay with ambiguity. Most days start with a plan that changes by 11am.
- Bonus: an interest in energy, infrastructure or climate. Not required — I can teach the sector.
Who this isn't for If you want a fixed scope, a predictable week, or a role where you're handed instructions — this will frustrate you. High ownership, steep learning curve, real hours.
The setup
Hybrid, full-time, reporting directly to me.
Gurugram is the default base. Bangalore also works — we have live projects and clients there, so there's real reason to have someone on the ground. If you're in Bangalore, you'll be coordinating with the founders remotely day to day and travelling to Gurugram periodically, so you'll need to be someone who over-communicates by default and doesn't go quiet between calls.
Compensation is based on experience and we'll be straightforward about it early in the process.
Applying
Apply here with your CV and a short note — three lines on why this role, not a cover letter. If you've built or run something on your own, tell me about it.
I read every application myself.
