Reporting To
Finance Controller/CFO – India
Role Purpose To independently manage the day-to-day Finance & Accounts function for Redbird's Sri Lanka operations by ensuring accurate accounting, statutory compliance, treasury management, financial reporting, and implementation of financial controls while supporting the business expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting
- Maintain complete books of accounts and records.
- Ensure timely monthly and annual financial closing.
- Prepare monthly MIS and financial reports for the India Finance team.
- Maintain fixed asset records and balance sheet reconciliations.
Treasury & Working Capital
- Prepare daily and weekly cash flow reports.
- Monitor collections, vendor payments and bank balances.
- Coordinate fund requirements with the India Finance team.
- Ensure effective working capital management.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance with Sri Lankan tax and statutory regulations.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain statutory records and statutory filings.
Commercial & Business Support
- Support student billing and revenue accounting.
- Monitor receivables and follow up on collections.
- Review operational expenses and ensure adherence to approved budgets.
- Provide financial support to the Country Head and Operations team.
Financial Controls
- Implement and maintain finance SOPs and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and approval matrix.
- Support internal and statutory audits.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements.
Coordination with India Office
- Ensure timely submission of MIS, cash flow reports and financial information.
- Support budgeting, forecasting and annual audit requirements.
- Work closely with the India Finance team on finance initiatives.
Desired Profile
Qualification
- Chartered Accountant CA/CA Inter, MBA, Mcom equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
- 6–12 years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Experience in independently handling finance and accounts of a business unit.
- Exposure to aviation, logistics, manufacturing or service industry would be preferred.
- Experience in Tally/accounting software and advanced MS Excel.
