Role & responsibilities
1. Financial Consolidation:
- Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidation of financial statements for all business units, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Oversee intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translations, and adjustments in line with corporate policies.
- Collaborate with regional or local finance teams to collect, review, and validate financial data for accurate and timely consolidation.
1. Management Information Systems (MIS) Reporting:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance MIS reports, dashboards, and KPIs that provide meaningful insights into business performance.
- Present periodic MIS reports to senior management, highlighting key financial and operational metrics, variance analyses, and actionable recommendations.
- Continuously evaluate reporting tools and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the overall quality of MIS outputs.
1. Month-End and Year-End Close:
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes related to consolidation and reporting activities.
- Review consolidated financial results, ensure reconciliations are performed, and address any discrepancies or variances promptly.
- Coordinate with external auditors and manage audit requests regarding consolidation and financial reporting.
1. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard the integrity of consolidated financial data and MIS reporting.
- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Support compliance with statutory reporting requirements in relevant jurisdictions.
1. Financial Analysis and Business Support:
- Provide in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and areas of improvement.
- Work closely with the FP&A; and operational teams to integrate consolidated data into forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to support business decisions through data-driven insights.
1. Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of finance professionals responsible for consolidation and MIS reporting.
- Set clear performance goals, provide regular feedback, and identify training needs to build a high-performing team.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
1. Process Improvement and Automation:
- Identify opportunities to streamline consolidation and MIS reporting processes through automation and improved workflows.
- Implement best practices, standardized procedures, and digital tools to enhance the efficiency and reliability of financial reporting.
- Champion change management initiatives and ensure smooth adoption of new systems or processes.
Preferred candidate profile
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is highly desirable.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a strong focus on consolidation, financial reporting, or MIS.
- Proven track record of managing complex consolidation processes in a multi-entity or multinational setting.
- Experience in leading a finance team or department.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in ERP systems and consolidation tools.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS, GAAP, or other relevant accounting standards.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data visualization or business intelligence tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills for collaborating with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Leadership qualities that foster teamwork, innovation, and high performance.
