Job Summary The Fiber SME is responsible for managing the Operations & Maintenance (O&M;) of the Optical Fiber Network, ensuring maximum network uptime, SLA compliance, quality service delivery, leading field operations, vendor teams, preventive and corrective maintenance, stakeholder coordination, safety, quality, and operational standards while optimizing resources and costs. Key Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end Fiber O&M; operations.

Ensure high network availability by reducing MTTR and improving SLA performance.

Lead preventive and corrective maintenance of OFC/OSP/ISP/FTTX networks.

Supervise field engineers, technicians, splicers and vendors.

Monitor outages and perform RCA.

Review network health and recommend preventive actions.

Maintain OTDR, Optical Power Meter, Fusion Splicer and testing equipment.

Coordinate with NOC, Planning, Deployment and Customer Support.

Manage spare inventory and asset tracking.

Ensure HSE compliance.

Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports.

Drive process improvements and cost optimization.





Required Technical

Skills

Knowledge of OFC, OSP, ISP, Backbone and Access Networks.

Fiber Splicing, OTDR Testing, Optical Power Measurement and Fault Localization.

Understanding of GPON, FTTX, SDH, DWDM, Ethernet and IP networks.

Preventive maintenance and outage management.

Telecom standards, quality and safety compliance.

MS Excel, PowerPoint and reporting tools. Leadership & Behavioral Skills

Preferred

Experience

8–12 years in Telecom Fiber O&M.;

Experience in large-scale OFC projects.

Experience with operators like Jio, Airtel, Vodafone Idea, BSNL.

B.E./B.Tech in ECE / EEE / ENTC (Mandatory)
