The role supports employee well-being and productivity by ensuring wholesome food in a clean, organized canteen environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Adjust recipes and quantities based on daily shift attendance (general and night shifts).

- Plan and rotate menus to provide variety, nutrition, and seasonal appropriateness while minimizing waste.

- Prepare special meals for festivals, celebrations, or employees on dietary restrictions (e.g., diabetic, medical).

2. Hygiene & Safety Compliance

- Strictly follow FSSAI guidelines and company sanitation protocols.

- Ensure personal hygiene (clean uniform, gloves, hairnet, no illness) and proper food handling (avoid cross-contamination, maintain cooking temperatures).

- Dispose of kitchen waste and used oil as per environmental standards (aligned with Gravita’s sustainability focus).

3. Inventory & Cost Control

- Assist in daily/monthly inventory of raw materials (vegetables, grains, spices, oil, milk products).

- Inspect incoming ingredients for quality, quantity, and freshness; reject substandard items.

- Minimize food spoilage through proper storage (dry, refrigeration, labeling with dates).

- Collaborate with admin to order supplies within budget, avoiding overstocking or shortages.

4. Team Coordination & Shift Management

- Supervise or assist helper(s) in cutting vegetables, serving, dishwashing, and canteen cleaning.

- Coordinate with shift supervisors to stagger meal breaks without disrupting production schedules.

- Ensure timely meal service for multiple shifts (e.g., 8 AM–5 PM, 5 PM–2 AM, night shift).

5. Equipment Maintenance

- Report any malfunctioning kitchen equipment (oven, exhaust, refrigerator) to admin for immediate repair.

- Ensure gas cylinders, electrical appliances, and fire extinguishers are handled safely.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: 10th or 12th pass; Diploma/Certificate in Food Production, Hotel Management, or ITI (Catering) preferred.

- Technical Skills:

- Expertise in bulk cooking (tadka, pressure cookers, large tawas/kadhai).

- Basic knowledge of roti-making machines, rice cookers, and industrial stoves.

- Ability to prepare simple, nutritious, and tasty vegetarian meals (Gravita may prefer pure veg; specify if non-veg allowed).

- Soft Skills:

- Time management and punctuality.

- Teamwork and communication (Hindi/English/regional language).

- Problem-solving during supply shortages or equipment failure.
