Job Summary

While manual testing is still important, there's an increasing focus on automating various testing types - functional, regression, visual, performance, and compatibility. As a Technical Test Engineer, you will contribute to our automation efforts, helping enhance overall quality and efficiency.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work in Agile environments, preferably using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts for web applications using Playwright and Cypress.
- Assist in creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Perform UI, functional, regression, smoke, and exploratory testing.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and QA team members to understand requirements and report issues effectively.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results to identify defects and improve software quality.
- Log defects and provide clear, concise documentation of test execution results.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing automation frameworks and reusable test components.
- Demonstrate a proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and continuously improve automation and testing skills.
- Maintain high standards of professionalism, ownership, and quality throughout the Software Testing Life Cycle.
Professional and Technical Skills
- 1.5–3 years of experience across the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience with both Playwright and Cypress for UI automation.
- Basic knowledge of developing and maintaining automation frameworks.
- Proficient in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with Java is an added advantage. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
- Good understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and coding best practices.
- Familiarity with automation frameworks such as Cucumber, JUnit, or TestNG.
- Basic understanding of RESTful API testing.
- Experience working with Git-based version control systems such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
- Valuable to have experience in API testing and API automation using tools/frameworks such as Playwright API, Karate, Rest Assured, or Postman.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted Software Testing and AI-powered engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
- Exposure to build tools such as NPM, Maven, or Gradle.
- Experience with Selenium and Java-based automation will be an added advantage
- Exposure to cloud testing platforms such as BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or AWS Device Farm.
- Basic experience with mobile automation tools such as Appium.
- Understanding of performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter, or Gatling.
- Experience generating reports using Allure Reports, Extent Reports, or equivalent.
- Awareness of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized environments.
- Basic understanding of application security testing practices and tools such as OWASP ZAP.
- Good to have knowledge or experience in the E-commerce domain.
