Job Description overview

The Junior Mechanical Design Engineer will support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, components, and products. This role involves working under senior engineers, preparing CAD models, performing basic calculations, and assisting in prototype development to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Involving in designing and developing mechanical components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and unit equipment.

- Create 3D part modelling, sub-assembly, and assembly along 2D drawings using design software such as AutoCAD, Solid Edge, and CATIA.

- Perform design calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection.

- Prepare BOM (Bill of Materials), technical documentation, and design reports.

- Collaborate with senior engineers on product development and modifications.

- Prepare documentation for design reviews and compliance checks.





- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for fabrication feasibility, costing, and material availability.

- Support manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.

- Provide technical support in resolving design and production-related issues.

Key Skills Required:

- Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.;

- Proficiency in SolidWorks/Solid Edge/CATIA and AutoCAD.

- Fluency in drafting standards, both in 1st and 3rd Angle projections

- Experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, machining, and welding processes.

- Understanding of conveyor systems, material handling equipment, or special-purpose machines (SPMs).

- Solid problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

- Good at the creation of concepts and visualisation.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

- 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyors, material handling, or the manufacturing industry.
