Job Title: Lead Engineer

Job Location: Chennai

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Create and optimize plastic laser welding procedures for automotive ECUs, sensors, actuators, connections, and housings.
- Define, test, and industrialize processes during Recent Product Introduction.
- Set welding settings such laser power, speed, focus, clamping force, and material compatibility.
- Seal, functional, and cosmetic-critical components need strong welds.
- Perform process validation and documentation (APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP).
- Fix production difficulties such weld strength, leakage, cosmetic faults, warpage, and particulate contamination.
- DFM and DFA compliance requires collaboration with design, tooling, automation, quality, and suppliers.
- Help integrate automation, inline inspection (vision, leak testing), and cycle time optimization.
- Ensure IATF 16949, ISO 9001 compliance.
- Implement yield, cost, and process capability (Cp/Cpk) continuous improvement efforts.
- Meet laser safety, EHS, and internal production standards.
- Maintain internal and external audits and customer technical reviews.
