Job Description – IT Executive

Position: IT Executive
Department: Information Technology (IT)
Reports To: Head of IT/ Principal

Job Summary

The IT Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth functioning of hardware, software, network systems, audio-visual equipment, and digital learning platforms. The role involves providing technical support to staff and students while ensuring data security and uninterrupted IT services across the campus.

Key ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure & Network Management

- Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, smart boards, projectors, and other IT equipment.
- Monitor and maintain LAN, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, and network devices.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
- Coordinate with external vendors for repairs, maintenance, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
- Maintain server health and ensure regular system updates.

User Support

- Provide first-level technical support to teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Resolve IT-related issues within agreed timelines.
- Configure official email accounts, user profiles, and access permissions.
- Assist staff with educational technology platforms and classroom technology.

School Management Systems

- Support the School ERP/HRMS/MICM and other educational software.
- Coordinate with software vendors for issue resolution and upgrades.
- Maintain user accounts and system access as per school policies.

Data Security & Backup





- Perform regular data backups and recovery procedures.
- Ensure antivirus protection and endpoint security are updated.
- Monitor cybersecurity practices and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain confidentiality of school and employee data.

Audio-Visual & Event Support

- Set up and manage audio-visual equipment for assemblies, meetings, workshops, and school events.
- Provide technical support during examinations, presentations, and online sessions.

Asset & Inventory Management

- Maintain an inventory of IT assets, software licenses, and accessories.
- Track warranty details and service schedules.
- Recommend replacement or procurement of IT equipment when required.

Documentation & Compliance

- Maintain documentation of IT systems, network diagrams, licenses, and support logs.
- Prepare periodic reports on IT infrastructure, maintenance, and system performance.
- Ensure compliance with school IT policies and cybersecurity standards.

Other Responsibilities

- Support digital initiatives and technology integration in classrooms.
- Conduct basic IT orientation sessions for new employees.
- Stay updated with emerging educational technologies and recommend improvements.




- Perform any other duties assigned by the Management.
- Include responsibilities for CCTV systems, biometric attendance, access control etc.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Relevant IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, or equivalent) are preferred.

Experience

- 2–5 years of experience in IT support, preferably in a school, educational institution, or corporate environment.
- Experience in managing networks, hardware, educational software, and user support.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Understanding of networking concepts, routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi management.
- Knowledge of hardware troubleshooting and system maintenance.
- Familiarity with School ERP, HRMS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Google Workspace is an advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.

Working Hours

- Monday to Friday with two Saturday working as per school working hours
- Availability on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays for school events, admissions, examinations, maintenance activities, or emergencies, as required by the school.

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
