About the Role:

We are seeking a taxation-focused Senior Accountant with deep expertise in US federal, state,

and local taxation, along with solid knowledge of US GAAP. This role is critical in ensuring

end-to-end tax compliance for the US entity, including income tax, sales & use tax, payroll taxes,

and information returns.

The ideal candidate will be based in India and will work closely with US CPAs, tax advisors,

payroll providers, and internal stakeholders to manage complex multi-state and multi-entity tax

matters, especially for ecommerce operations.

Role Overview:

This is a hands-on role responsible for US tax compliance, filings, reconciliations, and audit

support, along with oversight of accounting, payroll taxation, and ecommerce tax reporting. The

position requires strong ownership of deadlines, accuracy, and coordination with external

consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

US Taxation & Compliance (Primary Focus)

● Own US federal and state income tax compliance, including preparation and

coordination of:

● Form 1120 / 1120S filings

● State income and franchise tax filings
Manage sales & use tax compliance across multiple US states:

● Nexus analysis

● Registration, filings, and remittances

● Reconciliation of sales tax collected via ecommerce platforms (Amazon, Shopify,

Walmart,



etc.)

Oversee payroll tax compliance, including:

● Federal, state, and local payroll tax filings

● W-2, W-3, 1099-NEC, and 1096 reporting

● Coordinate and support tax audits, notices, and assessments from IRS and state

authorities

● Work closely with US tax consultants and CPAs for tax planning, provisioning, and

annual filings

● Assist in tax provisioning and deferred tax calculations as per US GAAP

Accounting & Reporting Support:

● Maintain books of accounts in compliance with US GAAP

● Support month-end and year-end close, with a focus on tax-sensitive accounts

● Prepare and review tax-related reconciliations, including accrued taxes, prepaid taxes,

and liabilities

● Ensure accurate revenue recognition, COGS, and expense classification from a tax

perspective

Ecommerce & Multi-Entity Operations:

● Handle ecommerce accounting with a tax lens, including marketplace facilitator rules

● Manage intercompany accounting and tax implications across the US, India, and other

entities

● Support transfer pricing documentation and coordination with consultants

● Perform multi-currency accounting and FX impact analysis on tax balances

Process Improvement & Controls:

● Strengthen tax compliance processes, calendars, and internal controls

● Implement improvements to reduce tax risks and ensure audit readiness





● Maintain proper documentation for all tax filings and assessments

Required Skills & Qualifications:
● CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification

● 5+ years of experience, with strong hands-on exposure to US taxation

● US federal & state income tax

● Sales & use tax (multi-state)

● Payroll taxes and information reporting

● Experience coordinating with US CPAs, tax advisors, and auditors

● Hands-on experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar ERPs

● Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and their tax reporting mechanisms

● Strong analytical, documentation, and deadline-management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

● Experience with US ecommerce or consumer product companies

● Exposure to multi-state sales tax nexus and marketplace facilitator laws

● Working knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany tax matters

● Prior experience supporting tax audits or IRS/state notices

Work Hours:

● Flexible, with availability to align with US time zones for tax coordination, filings, and

discussions

Pay: ₹700,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
