Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Factory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the production floor in a knitted garment manufacturing unit. The role is responsible for ensuring smooth production across cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing departments while meeting daily production targets, maintaining quality standards, minimizing downtime, and leading production teams.

The ideal candidate should have robust shop floor management experience, excellent leadership skills, and a thorough understanding of cut-to-sew knitted garment manufacturing.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduction Management

Supervise daily production activities across cutting, sewing, finishing, and packing departments.

Ensure production targets are achieved according to the daily production plan.

Monitor line efficiency, operator productivity, and machine utilization.

Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.

Ensure smooth workflow between departments.

Production Planning & Coordination

Coordinate with the Production Planning, Merchandising, Fabric, and Quality teams to maintain uninterrupted production.

Ensure availability of fabrics, trims, and accessories on the production floor.

Follow production schedules and escalate delays promptly.

Support production planning for timely shipment execution.

Quality Management

Ensure buyer quality standards are maintained throughout production.

Monitor inline and end-line quality inspections.

Reduce defects, alterations, and rework through preventive actions.





Work closely with the Quality team to implement corrective measures.

Team Management

Supervise line supervisors, line leaders, machine operators, helpers, and finishing staff.

Allocate manpower efficiently based on production requirements.

Monitor attendance, discipline, and workforce productivity.

Conduct daily production meetings and motivate teams to achieve targets.

Factory Floor Operations

Ensure adherence to safety procedures and factory housekeeping standards.

Monitor machine breakdowns and coordinate with the maintenance team for quick resolution.

Ensure smooth movement of work-in-progress (WIP) between departments.

Maintain production records and daily reports.

Cost & Efficiency Improvement

Reduce material wastage and improve labor efficiency.

Implement continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.

Support lean manufacturing practices to improve productivity.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Textile, Apparel, Fashion Technology, or a related field.

6–10 years of experience in knitted garment manufacturing.

Minimum 3 years of experience managing production on the factory floor.

Strong understanding of cut-to-sew garment manufacturing processes.

Experience handling export or domestic garment production.
