Job Summary The person is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely availability of all materials required for factory operations except production raw materials. This includes maintenance items, engineering spares, electrical components, consumables, packaging materials, safety equipment, office supplies, laboratory items, utilities-related materials, and capital equipment. The role focuses on obtaining the best quality, price, and delivery while maintaining uninterrupted plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Planning

- Procure all factory materials other than production raw materials.
- Review purchase requisitions from all departments.
- Plan purchases based on consumption patterns, inventory levels, and maintenance schedules.
- Ensure timely procurement to avoid production interruptions.

Vendor Management

- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers.
- Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and service agreements.
- Maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers.
- Conduct periodic supplier performance evaluations

Material Categories

Responsible for purchasing, including but not limited to:

- Mechanical spare parts
- Electrical spare parts
- Instrumentation items
- Hydraulic and pneumatic components
- Bearings, belts, chains, gears, couplings
- Welding consumables
- Lubricants and greases
- Maintenance consumables
- Hardware and fasteners
- Pipes, valves, fittings
- Safety equipment (PPE)
- Fire safety materials
- Packaging materials
- Laboratory equipment and chemicals
- Housekeeping materials
- Office stationery and furniture
- IT equipment and accessories
- Factory tools
- Utility-related materials
- Capital equipment and machinery spares

Purchase Order Management

- Prepare and issue purchase orders.




- Follow up with suppliers for order confirmation and timely delivery.
- Coordinate with stores, maintenance, production, finance, and quality departments.
- Resolve supply delays and shortages.

Inventory Control

- Monitor stock levels of non-raw materials.
- Maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels.
- Prevent overstocking and stock-outs.
- Coordinate with stores for inventory verification.

Cost Control

- Achieve cost savings through effective negotiation.
- Develop alternate suppliers.
- Monitor market price trends.
- Recommend value engineering and cost reduction initiatives.

Documentation

- Maintain accurate procurement records.
- Update supplier databases.
- Prepare purchase reports and cost analyses.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures.
- Maintain documentation for audits.

Coordination

- Work closely with:
- Maintenance Department
- Production Department
- Stores
- Quality Control
- Accounts & Finance
- Administration
- Safety Department

Compliance

- Ensure procurement complies with company policies.
- Verify purchased items meet required specifications.
- Follow statutory, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of commercial information.

Qualifications





- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or Business Administration.
- Professional procurement certification is an added advantage.

Experience

- 5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing industry.
- Experience in tyre reclaim, tyre crumb, rubber, chemical, or process manufacturing is preferred.
- Experience in purchasing industrial spares and maintenance materials is essential.

Working Conditions

- Based at the manufacturing plant.

- May require availability beyond normal working hours during plant shutdowns or emergency procurement situations.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
