Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Embedded Test Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between hardware and software by designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test strategies for embedded systems. You will work closely with firmware developers, hardware engineers, and systems teams to ensure our products meet strict reliability, performance, and functional standards.
Key Responsibilities
Test Execution & Strategy
- Test Planning: Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on system requirements.
- Integration & Validation: Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL), Software-in-the-Loop (SIL), and bench-level testing of embedded systems.
- Automation: Build and enhance automated test frameworks (e.g., Python, PyTest) to streamline regression and system testing.
- Lab Debugging: Diagnose and debug complex hardware/software integration issues using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters.
Collaboration & Quality Assurance
- Defect Tracking: Log, track, and re-test hardware and firmware defects using tools like Jira.
- CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated test suites into Continuous Integration (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with firmware developers and systems engineers to review requirements and specify testability hooks.
Qualifications & Skill Requirements Required Experience & Education
- Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded software/hardware testing.
Technical Skills
- Scripting & Programming: Solid proficiency in Python (or C/C++) for test automation and scripting.
- Communication Protocols: Hands-on experience testing protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, CAN, Ethernet, or wireless stacks (BLE, Wi-Fi).
- Lab Instrumentation: Deep familiarity with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
- Version Control & Tracking: Proficiency with Git and issue-tracking platforms like Jira.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) or LabVIEW.
- Familiarity with industry-specific compliance/safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262 for Automotive, IEC 62304 for Medical, or DO-178C for Aerospace).
- Knowledge of low-power optimization testing for battery-operated devices.
- Experience with test frameworks like Robot Framework or Behave
