What you'll actually own
You keep Zooly's sensor electronics real and reliable: schematics and PCB work, board bring-up, sensor characterization, test fixtures, and production test across the hip, knee, and shoulder products. Your hands are on the hardware that every measurement depends on. You work on one shared platform, so the fixtures and methods you build get used everywhere.
The best hardware here is creative and straightforward at once. If our sensing holds up in the lab and on the line, it will be in part because of the electronics work you did.

If this hire goes the way we intend, one year from now:
- You have shipped platform electronics work that the hip, knee, and shoulder products rely on.
- Your test fixtures and calibration utilities are what the team uses to trust its hardware.
- You deliver predictably within the shared platform cadence.
- You and the US engineers work as one team across overlapping hours.
About Zooly Zooly Labs is on a mission to make advanced surgical guidance more accessible for joint replacement surgery. Joint replacement can restore mobility and quality of life, yet surgeons often have limited objective information during the procedure to assess joint behavior and guide decisions. We build AI-guided technology that combines intelligent sensing, real-time data, and decision support with familiar surgical workflows and standard instruments, without large capital equipment.

What this role is really like This is a hands-on role at a fast-growing startup racing real deadlines. You will bring up a board with a scope and logic analyzer, characterize a sensor, write a calibration utility, and build a manufacturing test, often in the same week. If you want to stay in schematic capture and never touch the bench, this is not the role. If you love making real hardware work, it is.
What you'll do
- Support schematics, PCB updates, board bring-up, debugging, sensor characterization, embedded tests, calibration utilities, and manufacturing test.
- Build reusable platform modules instead of one-off, joint-specific solutions wherever you can.
- Take part in sprint planning, design and code reviews, test planning, and documentation.
- Investigate defects and failures and write up root cause and the fix.
- Keep configuration control, test evidence, and clean engineering records.
- Work closely with the product engineers, the US platform leads, quality/regulatory contributors, and suppliers.
What you need to be able to do These are capabilities, not credentials. If you can do these things, we want to talk regardless of how many years it took you to get here.
- You have hands-on experience with embedded electronics, sensor systems, PCB development, firmware-adjacent work, or hardware verification.
- You can do schematic development, PCB layout review, board bring-up, and work with microcontrollers, analog/digital interfaces, power systems, batteries, and wireless.
- You debug fluently with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and power analyzers.
- You have working knowledge of embedded C/C++, communication protocols, test scripting, and automated hardware characterization.
- You troubleshoot well, document clearly, keep configuration control, and collaborate with suppliers.
- A degree in electrical, electronics, or computer engineering is common in people who do this well, but the ability above matters more than the diploma.
What would make you a strong fit
- Experience with medical devices, robotics, wearables, IoT, or other high-reliability sensor-enabled products.
- Experience with IMUs, force/pressure/strain sensors, sensor calibration, low-power wireless, or production-test automation.
- Experience with Altium, KiCad, OrCAD, or comparable ECAD tools.
- Exposure to EMC testing, pilot manufacturing, component qualification, or design controls.
How this role works with the rest of the team You are part of one shared engineering team. You are based in India, but the backlog, architecture, and design reviews are global. You work closely with the US electronics and product engineers across overlapping hours, and your work serves every product, not a single joint.
