Job Title: EHS Head (Environment, Health & Safety)
Location: Thane (Frequent Travel to Project Sites Across India)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic EHS Head (Environment, Health & Safety) to lead and strengthen our organization's EHS function across multiple project sites in India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company's Environment, Health & Safety management system while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
This leadership role requires a proactive professional with strong expertise in corporate EHS governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and team leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a robust safety culture, driving continuous improvement, and achieving zero workplace incidents.
Key Responsibilities
EHS Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the corporate EHS function across multiple project sites.
- Develop, implement, and monitor organization-wide EHS policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Drive compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
- Conduct corporate EHS audits, risk assessments, and management reviews.
- Mentor and guide EHS Managers and Safety Officers across project locations.
- Collaborate with project, design, procurement, and operations teams to integrate EHS into all project phases.
Statutory & Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable Indian EHS regulations, including BOCW Act, Factories Act, Labour Laws, and Environmental Regulations.
- Manage statutory licenses, permits, and renewals.
- Coordinate with government authorities during inspections and audits.
Site Safety Management
- Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure effective implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Work at Height, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Lifting Operations, and Electrical Safety procedures.
- Review and approve Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements (RAMS).
Incident Management
- Lead investigations into accidents, near misses, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain incident records and prepare reports for management and clients.
Training & Safety Awareness
- Develop and deliver EHS induction programs for employees and contractors.
- Conduct toolbox talks, mock drills, safety campaigns, and awareness sessions.
- Identify training needs and maintain training records.
- Analyze safety performance trends and implement improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain statutory records and EHS documentation.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly safety reports and dashboards.
- Present EHS performance reports to senior management.
- Develop emergency response plans.
- Establish centralized audit and performance monitoring systems across multiple project sites.
Client & Contractor Management
- Coordinate with client EHS teams to ensure project compliance.
- Attend client safety meetings and audits.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with contractual safety requirements.
Environmental Management
- Ensure effective waste management and disposal practices.
- Monitor compliance related to air, water, noise, and hazardous waste.
- Promote sustainability and environmental conservation initiatives.

Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Indian EHS legislation and statutory compliance.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Expertise in risk assessment, incident investigation, and CAPA.
- Experience in EHS audits and compliance management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and EHS reporting systems.
- Strong documentation and analytical skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Environmental Science.
- Diploma or Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institute.
- NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Lead Auditor certification for ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in Environment, Health & Safety.
- Minimum 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Experience in MEP, HVAC, EPC, Construction, Infrastructure, Industrial, or similar project-based environments.
- Robust exposure to client safety requirements, statutory compliance, and corporate EHS management.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to project sites across India.
- Flexibility to work during weekends or extended hours when required for emergencies, audits, or critical project activities.
