- Patient Preparation: Explain the procedure to patients, measure the head, and apply surface electrodes to specific scalp locations using conductive paste/gel.
- Conducting Tests: Operate EEG equipment to record brainwave activity during various states (awake, asleep, or during photic stimulation/hyperventilation).
- Monitoring & Observation: Monitor the patient for signs of seizures or unusual brainwave patterns during the recording and mark relevant events in the software.
- Patient Care & Safety: Keep the patient calm and ensure their safety if a seizure occurs during testing.
- Data Management: Prepare and annotate clear brainwave recordings for the Neurologist to interpret.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, sterilize, and maintain electrodes and EEG machinery.
EMG Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS):
Place surface electrodes on a patients limbs and apply mild electrical stimuli to measure nerve signal speed and amplitude.
- Assisting the Neurologist: Assist the physician during the needle EMG phase by operating the software while the doctor inserts fine needle electrodes into muscles.
- Managing Patient Comfort: Guide patients through mild electrical shocks and needle insertions, keeping them relaxed to get transparent readings.
- Artifact Removal: Identify and eliminate electrical interference to ensure accurate waveform recordings.
- Reporting: Calculate nerve conduction velocities and compile preliminary data for the Neurologist’s review.
Qualification
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in EEG/EMG Technology, Neurodiagnostic Technology.
- Fresher &
