Role Description The Director of Operations is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions of Maverick Capital Foundation. This position leads operational planning, optimizes processes, and ensures that programs and initiatives are delivered efficiently and in alignment with organizational goals.

The Director of Operations will manage cross-functional teams, establish performance metrics, and coordinate budgeting and resource allocation to support ongoing and new projects. The role includes monitoring operational risks, improving internal systems, and collaborating with leadership to develop and implement long-term strategies. Regular responsibilities also include maintaining high standards of customer service for internal and external stakeholders,



preparing operational reports, and driving continuous improvement across the foundation.

Qualifications

- Strong operations management skills, including experience designing, implementing, and improving processes and workflows.
- Advanced analytical skills to interpret data, assess performance, and make informed decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated team management abilities, including leading remote teams, coaching staff, and fostering a collaborative work culture.
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial oversight, with experience managing operational budgets and optimizing resource allocation.
- Commitment to high-quality customer service, with the ability to build positive relationships with partners, grantees, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience in nonprofit or foundation operations is highly beneficial, including familiarity with grant-making or program administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, nonprofit management, public administration, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
- Comfort with remote work technologies and collaboration tools, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
