Role Description The Director of Infrastructure is a full time, on-site leadership role based in the Pune Division, responsible for overseeing the university’s IT and physical infrastructure. This role includes planning, implementing, and maintaining campus-wide network, server, and data center systems to ensure reliability, security, and scalability. The Director will lead cross-functional teams to manage infrastructure projects, coordinate with academic and administrative stakeholders, and align technology initiatives with institutional goals.
Daily responsibilities involve monitoring performance and security, optimizing infrastructure resources, managing vendor relationships,
and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. The role also includes developing long-term infrastructure strategies, budgeting, and fostering continuous improvement in technology and operations.
Qualifications
Strong infrastructure management skills, including experience with data centers, servers, storage, and campus-wide IT and facilities infrastructure.
Deep knowledge of information technology systems, including enterprise platforms, cloud solutions, and integration of academic and administrative systems.
Proven team leadership abilities, including mentoring staff, building high-performing teams, and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
Expertise in network security, including firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention, access control, and data protection best practices.
Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, execution, risk management, and on-time delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CCNP) are an advantage.
Experience in large educational institutions or similar complex environments, with familiarity in regulatory and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to operate strategically while managing day-to-day priorities.
