Job Summary The Design & Planning Engineer is responsible for designing HVAC systems, preparing engineering drawings and calculations, planning project execution, coordinating with clients and project teams, and ensuring timely completion of projects while complying with applicable standards and client specifications.

Design
Responsibilities
Design HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, and residential projects.
Perform heat load calculations using industry-standard methods and software.
Prepare HVAC layouts, ducting layouts, chilled water piping layouts, ventilation layouts, and equipment selection.
Select HVAC equipment such as VRF/VRV systems, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation fans, pumps, and duct accessories.
Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), equipment schedules, and technical specifications.
Develop shop drawings, coordinated drawings, and as-built drawings.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire-fighting teams for co-ordinated drawings.
Review consultant comments and incorporate required revisions.

Planning
Responsibilities
Prepare project execution plans and work schedules.
Develop project timelines using project planning tools.
Monitor project progress against the approved schedule.
Coordinate with procurement for timely material requirements.
Coordinate with project execution teams to ensure timely completion.
Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
Identify project risks and recommend mitigation plans.
Track engineering deliverables and construction milestones.
Support site teams with technical clarifications during execution.
Skills Required
Solid knowledge of HVAC system design and engineering.
Heat load calculation and equipment selection.
Duct sizing and chilled water pipe sizing.
Preparation of BOQs and technical documentation.
Planning and scheduling using project management techniques.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Prepare & seek approval on design changes/Scope additions etc. Prepare and Analyze Variations.

Educational Qualification
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
2–3 years of experience in HVAC design and project planning.
Experience in commercial, industrial, hospitals, hotels, data centres, and residential projects is preferred.
