We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Depot Accountant to manage the accounting and financial operations of the depot. The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, handling inventory accounting, monitoring stock reconciliation, processing invoices, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The ideal candidate should have a strong finance background, experience in depot/warehouse operations, and hands-on knowledge of Tally ERP.

Role & responsibilities

1. Depot Accounting & Financial Records

- Maintain accurate books of accounts for depot transactions.
- Record all financial transactions in Tally Prime on a timely basis.
- Ensure proper documentation and accounting compliance.

2. Inventory & Stock Reconciliation

- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock reconciliation between physical stock and system records.
- Investigate and report stock variances, shortages, damages, and excess inventory.
- Coordinate with Factory Commercial team to resolve discrepancies.

3. Billing & Invoice Management

- Prepare and verify sales order, sales invoices, debit notes, and credit notes.
- Ensure timely processing of customer and vendor invoices.
- Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes.

4. Cash & Banking Operations

- Manage cash collections.
- Perform daily cash reconciliation and bank reconciliation.




- Prepare deposit statements and maintain financial records accurately.

5. MIS & Financial Reporting

- Prepare daily depot MIS reports.
- Generate monthly financial reports, stock reports on daily basis, and expense statements on daily basis.
- Support management with financial analysis and reporting.

6. Compliance & Audit

- Maintain statutory and financial records in compliance with company policies.
- Assist during internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
- Ensure adherence to financial controls and accounting procedures.

7. Cost Control & Process Improvement

- Monitor depot expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Recommend improvements in accounting and inventory control processes.

Preferred candidate profile

- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com), Finance, or Accounting.
- MBA (Finance) or M.Com will be an added advantage.
- 3-6 years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
- Minimum 3 years of experience handling accounting activities in a Depot, Warehouse Operations, FMCG, Manufacturing, or Distribution environment.
- Hands-on experience in inventory accounting and stock reconciliation.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime.
- Valuable knowledge of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, MIS Reporting).
