Daycare Teacher

Department: Academics – Early Childhood Education

Reports To: Centre Manager

Position Summary The Daycare Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, caring, engaging, and nurturing environment for children attending the daycare programme. The teacher will supervise children's daily routines, facilitate age-appropriate learning and recreational activities, ensure their health and well-being, and build positive relationships with parents. The role requires patience, warmth, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.

Freshers with relevant qualifications and a positive attitude are encouraged to apply. Experienced candidates will be preferred for higher responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Child Care & Supervision

- Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of all children under your care.
- Supervise children throughout the day, including indoor and outdoor activities.
- Maintain appropriate child-to-teacher ratios as per school policy.
- Create a warm, welcoming, and nurturing setting where every child feels valued.
- Observe children's behaviour and developmental progress and report concerns to the Centre Manager.

Learning & Development

- Plan and conduct age-appropriate activities that support children's cognitive, language, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Encourage creativity through storytelling, music, art, games, and hands-on activities.
- Support children's independence, confidence, and social skills.
- Maintain an engaging, organised, and stimulating classroom environment.

Daily Care

- Assist children with meals, snacks, hydration, toileting, and personal hygiene as required.




- Support children during nap time and ensure a calm, comfortable rest environment.
- Promote healthy habits and good manners.
- Ensure children follow daily routines consistently.

Parent Communication

- Maintain positive and professional relationships with parents.
- Provide regular updates regarding children's daily activities and well-being.
- Report any health concerns, incidents, or behavioural observations promptly.
- Participate in parent meetings and school events when required.

Classroom Management

- Maintain a clean, organised, and child-friendly classroom.
- Ensure learning materials, toys, and equipment are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Prepare activity materials in advance.
- Maintain attendance records and daily observation notes as required.

Health & Safety

- Follow all child protection, safeguarding, and safety policies.
- Ensure proper hygiene and sanitation practices are maintained.
- Administer first aid (where trained) and report accidents immediately.
- Be vigilant in preventing unsafe situations and responding appropriately to emergencies.

Team Collaboration

- Work collaboratively with fellow teachers, caregivers, and support staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, training programmes, and professional development sessions.
- Assist during school events, celebrations,



field trips, and special programmes.

Qualifications Candidates should possess any one of the following:

- Nursery Teacher Training (NTT)
- Diploma in Education (D.Ed.)
- Montessori Teacher Training (MTT)
- Diploma/Certificate in Early Childhood Care & Education (ECCE)
- Diploma in Preschool Education
- Any other recognised qualification in Early Childhood Education or Child Development

Experience

- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- 0–5 years of experience in a preschool, daycare, nursery, kindergarten, or early childhood education setting will be an added advantage.
- Passion for working with young children is essential.

Pay: Up to ₹28,000.00 per month
