Job Objective:

The Database Developer (DBD) MS SQL Server will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise-grade databases to support high-performance, secure, and scalable applications. The role focuses on modern database development practices, cloud-readiness, performance optimization, automation, analytics enablement, and collaboration with application, DevOps, and BI teams.

Core Responsibilities& Requirements:

- Design and develop efficient database schemas, tables, views, indexes, functions, and stored procedures using MS SQL Server.
- Optimize SQL queries and database performance using indexing strategies, execution plans, and performance tuning techniques.
- Develop and maintain T-SQL code for business logic, reporting, and data integration layers.
- Implement and manage database version control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
- Support cloud-based and hybrid database environments (Azure SQL, SQL Managed Instance).
- Ensure data security, integrity, compliance, and access control through best practices.
- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and data transformations across environments.
- Collaborate with application developers, BI teams, and DevOps engineers for end-to-end delivery.
- Design and support reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions (SSRS / Power BI).
- Implement backup, recovery, high availability,



and disaster recovery strategies.
- Monitor database health and proactively resolve performance and availability issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and database standards.

AI & Up-to-date Technology Exposure (Preferred)

- Experience using AI-driven query optimization or monitoring tools.
- Exposure to AI/ML-ready data models and analytics-focused database design.
- Understanding of data pipelines for AI, BI, and predictive analytics.
- Familiarity with automation and monitoring tools powered by AI insights.

Candidate Profile Details

Essential Criteria

Education:

BE / B.Tech (in any stream)

OR

PG Degree IT/CS or equivalent

Certifications:- (Any One)

- Microsoft Technology Associate Database Fundamentals/ Microsoft Certified:Azure Database Administrator Associate/Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate/MCSA: SQL Server Database Developement/MCSE: Data Management and analystics or equivalent.

Experience:

- Minimum 4 years of experience in MS SQL Server database development
- Experience working on large-scale or enterprise applications
- Prior experience with government or public-sector projects is a plus.

Desirable Skills & Experience

- Experience working in government / PSU IT environments
- Knowledge of multi-database environments (Oracle,PostgreSQL, MySQL – added advantage)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Ability to mentor junior developers and review SQL code
- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
