Role Description As a Data Scientist at loanDNA, you will work on designing, developing, and refining machine learning models that power loan analytics, risk prediction, and portfolio optimization. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate mortgage-domain requirements into robust data pipelines, analytical frameworks, and algorithmic solutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include cleaning and transforming large loan datasets, performing exploratory data analysis, building and validating predictive models, and contributing to AI-powered data extraction and income calculation features. You will also design experiments, monitor model performance, and generate clear,



actionable insights through dashboards and reports that support decision-making for lenders and investors. This is a full-time, in office role based in Chennai, requiring regular collaboration with cross-functional teams in an office environment.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in statistics, probability, and machine learning, including experience with supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
- Proficiency in data science programming languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with relevant libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit-learn, NumPy, TensorFlow or PyTorch).
- Experience in data engineering and analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and working with large structured and unstructured datasets.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases, and comfort working with cloud-based data platforms or big data technologies.
- Ability to design, validate, and deploy predictive models into production environments, with knowledge of model evaluation, monitoring, and optimization.
- Exposure to NLP or document processing techniques and familiarity with AI-powered data extraction and automation workflows.
- Experience creating clear visualizations and reports using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar dashboarding solutions.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
