Our client is seeking a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with 3–5 years of experience in testing data-intensive, analytics, or SaaS applications. The role primarily focuses on SQL-based data validation, ETL/ELT testing, and database testing , along with some exposure to UI automation, API testing, and regression testing .

The ideal candidate should be comfortable validating large datasets, business calculations, data transformations, dashboards, and reporting workflows. You will collaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to ensure data accuracy and application reliability across releases.

Key Responsibilities

- Validate data accuracy across databases, data pipelines, dashboards, reports, APIs, and application interfaces.
- Write SQL queries to verify business rules, calculations, aggregations, transformations, and source-to-target data consistency.
- Perform ETL/ELT testing, including data completeness, integrity, duplicate, null, reconciliation, and transformation checks.
- Test cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or similar platforms.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end testing.
- Develop and maintain basic UI automation tests using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Test REST APIs using tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar technologies.
- Validate data consistency between APIs, user interfaces, databases, and reporting layers.
- Maintain regression test suites and identify suitable scenarios for automation.
- Log, track, troubleshoot, and verify defects with clear supporting evidence.




- Collaborate with developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and define test coverage.
- Execute automated tests through CI/CD pipelines and contribute to continuous quality improvement.

Required Skills

- 3–5 years of experience in software testing, data testing, ETL/ELT testing , or Data QA roles .
- Robust hands-on SQL experience for database testing and data validation.
- Strong experience with Snowflake or similar databases , including validating data across different processing and reporting layers.
- Experience validating ETL/ELT pipelines , data transformations, business rules, aggregations, and source-to-target mappings.
- Experience performing data reconciliation, completeness, consistency, duplicate , null , and integrity checks .
- Experience testing d ata-intensive, analytics, reporting, dashboard-based, BI , or SaaS applications.
- Experience with functional, regression, integration, smoke, UAT, and end-to-end data-flow testing
- Fundamental understanding of UI automation concepts and tools such as Selenium or Playwright, with an interest in developing hands-on experience.
- Ability to investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes,



and coordinate defect resolution with development and data-engineering teams.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices and defect-management processes.
- Strong analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

- Working knowledge of REST API testing using Postman or similar tools.
- Basic exposure to UI testing or automation using Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress.
- Experience with Power BI or another analytics and reporting platform.
- Experience with DBT, Snowpipe, CDC, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Basic Python knowledge for data validation or test automation.
- Familiarity with Jira and CI/CD processes.
- Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
