Background

Madhya Pradesh State Spatial Data Infrastructure (MPSSDI) is a flagship program of the Government of Madhya Pradesh,being implemented by MPSeDC-a registered society under the department of Science & Technology, Government of Madhya Pradesh.

The program aims at creating a centralized repository of standardized GIS/ satellite imagery dataoftheState.The repository acts as a single source for discovery and electronic access to spatial data by authorized users of the State. Creation of repository is being done by way of in-house creation of new data as well as collating the existing GIS data available with the state.

JobDescription

- Document and implement Standard Operating Procedures for GIS data creation and analysis
- Oversee implementation of 2D and 3D GIS data creation activities including data QA/QC procedures
- Defining data encryption and data security procedures.
- Manage performance and work schedule of resources involved in data creation
- Coordinate with data owner departments/agencies for enabling data sharing
- Analyzed at a requirements laid by State users/departments/agencies and advise on optimum data specifications & data creation methodologies
- Evolve SOPs on available open sourced Desktop GIS tools/software entailing workflow implementations for GIS data creation and analysis.
- Guide resources on efficient usage of available open source/proprietaryGIS / Image processing software.
- Data & Query optimization
- State level Database Handling

Essential Criteria

Qualification:

B.E./B.Tech(Any) OR

PG(CS/IT)Or Equivalent OR

Full time Post graduate degree in GIS/ Remote Sensing/ Geo-informatics or equivalent subject with certification in Database Management

Experience:

- Minimum 8 years of experience in Database Management.
- Out of 8 years of experience:-
- Should have worked for a minimum of three years in Managerial/Project leader capacity in large data base handling &Management; in GIS Application.
- Should have minimum five years of experience in Spatial Data organization and Management.
- Capacity in managing & handling of enterprise level special database such as (MS SQL Spatial, MY SQL Spatial, Oracle Spatial, Postgress Spatial).

DesirableQualifications,Skills &

Experience

Experience:

- Preference will be given to those having experience in database management and data structure design of State Spatial data infrastructure projects.
- Certification in Database Management/ Data Security.

Skills:

- Transparent understanding of database handling, data usability, data encryption and securityand globally recognized data standards & protocols especially the location based data.
- Should be able to design database structures, schema and be able to guide and manage Database Administrators team.
- Be able to provide data-related technical guidanceandassistancetoprojectteams.
- Aware of emerging GIS technologies and their application.
- Be able to analyze complex problems, evaluate alternatives, and make sound, well-structured recommendations.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
