Role Description The Cyber Security Consultant PO or PM role is a part-time remote position focused on supporting cyber security initiatives across digital products and projects. In this role, the consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define security requirements, prioritize security-related backlog items, and ensure that cyber security considerations are integrated into project planning and delivery.
Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectures and designs for security risks, coordinating vulnerability assessments, monitoring remediation activities,
and maintaining explicit documentation of security controls and policies. The consultant will engage with stakeholders to communicate risks, recommend mitigations, and align security measures with organizational and regulatory standards. This role also involves advising on best practices in cyber security governance and contributing to continuous improvement of security processes and frameworks.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in core Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Application Security, including secure SDLC, code review, and protection of web and mobile applications.
- Proficiency in Network Security, such as firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
- Practical expertise in Vulnerability Assessment, including scanning, analysis, prioritization, and tracking of remediation efforts.
- Experience in product ownership or project management, preferably in technology or security-focused projects.
- Ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams and communicate complex security topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+) or equivalent practical experience are an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
