Cost Control Manager The Cost Control Manager is responsible for managing the costs associated with precast construction projects from the feasibility stage through to completion. This includes monitoring project budgets, verifying site measurements, and ensuring cost-effective usage of materials. The role plays a key part in ensuring profitability and financial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Project Cost Planning & Forecasting
- Develop project-wise and department-wise budgets in coordination with planning and finance teams.
- Prepare cost forecasts and financial feasibility reports for upcoming projects.
- Implement cost codes, WBS, and control measures for tracking resource usage.
2. Cost Monitoring & Control
- Monitor project costs regularly and identify variances from budgets or estimates.
- Review material, labour, and subcontractor expenditures in relation to planned values.
- Conduct site visits and audits to validate quantities and work progress.
3. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare periodic cost reports for internal management review.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses and suggest corrective actions where applicable.
- Collaborate with estimation team for input pricing and bid strategies.
4. Cross-Departmental Coordination
- Work closely with accounts, procurement, and operations to validate purchase orders, bills, and work orders.
- Approve budget revisions or re-allocations and ensure alignment with financial strategy.
- Support operations by advising on cost impacts of design or schedule changes.
