- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering
- M.Tech / MBA (Construction Management) preferred
- Certification in Contract Management or Arbitration will be an added advantage
Job Summary The Contracts Manager will be responsible for managing all contractual aspects of infrastructure and construction projects from pre-award to project completion. The role includes contract drafting, review, administration, claim management, dispute resolution, risk mitigation, and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations. The candidate should have extensive experience in EPC, item-rate, turnkey, hydro, highway, railway, metro, and building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract Activities
- Review tender documents, BOQ, specifications, and contract conditions.
- Identify contractual risks and prepare risk assessment reports.
- Assist in bid preparation and contract negotiations.
- Draft clarifications, deviations, and contractual correspondence.
- Coordinate with tendering, estimation, legal, and commercial teams.
Contract Administration
- Prepare, review, and administer client and subcontractor agreements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Maintain contract records, amendments, and correspondence.
- Monitor contractual milestones and obligations.
- Manage contract renewals, extensions, and variations.
Claims & Change Management
- Prepare and evaluate variation orders and extra item claims.
- Handle Extension of Time (EOT) claims.
- Prepare delay analysis and disruption claims.
- Support arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution.
- Coordinate with legal consultants when required.
Commercial Management
- Monitor contract value and project budgets.
- Review IPCs (Interim Payment Certificates) and RA Bills.
- Ensure timely certification and payments.
- Evaluate subcontractor bills and contractual compliance.
- Assist in cost control and commercial reporting.
Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, planning, billing, procurement, finance, and legal teams.
- Participate in client meetings and contractual discussions.
- Resolve contractual issues with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Documentation
- Maintain contract registers and document control.
- Prepare contractual reports for management.
- Maintain correspondence records and project documentation.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
- Monitor contractual obligations related to safety, quality, environmental standards, and insurance.
