Machine Shop In-Charge — CNC Toolroom Role: Oversee daily CNC machining operations, from job planning to delivery, for the toolroom, and coordinate with foundry suppliers on casting quality and inputs.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and assign machining jobs (CNC turning/milling/VMC) to operators Read drawings, set up jigs/fixtures, and write/edit CNC programs Inspect incoming castings for defects (porosity, shrinkage, sand inclusion, dimensional variance) before machining Liaise with foundry suppliers on casting quality issues, rejections, and machining allowance requirements Inspect first-piece and in-process quality; resolve rejections Ensure preventive maintenance of machines; manage tool inventory Supervise and train operators/helpers; enforce safety and 5S Report daily production status to management Requirements: Diploma/ITI in Mechanical or Tool & Die (Degree a plus) 8 years CNC machining experience, 3 years in a supervisory role Robust with Fanuc/Siemens controllers, reading GD&T; drawings Working knowledge of casting processes and common defects (sand/investment/die casting) Team handling experience (5–15 workers)
