Key Responsibilities
A. Chairman's Agenda & Strategic Priorities
- Translate the Chairman's vision and annual business priorities into clearly defined programmes, milestones, accountabilities, review mechanisms and decision points. • Prepare concise decision briefs, business cases, scenario analyses and recommendations on growth, investment, organisation and operational priorities. • Maintain a consolidated view of strategic commitments and leadership actions, surface risks early and protect the Chairman's attention for matters requiring his intervention.
B. Business Performance & Operating Rhythm
- Design and run an effective weekly, monthly and quarterly review cadence across manufacturing, procurement, quality, supply chain, sales, finance and people priorities. • Institutionalise a concise enterprise dashboard covering revenue, volume, margins, capacity utilisation, yield and recovery, procurement cost, inventory, working capital, dispatch, collections and quality. • Ensure reviews focus on root causes, decisions and corrective action; track closure and escalate unresolved cross functional dependencies with clear options.
C. Growth & Transformation Programmes
- Lead or coordinate a central programme management office for priority initiatives such as capacity ramp-up, manufacturing readiness, storage optimisation, market expansion and process professionalisation. • Drive cross-functional planning for new products, packaging, brand programmes, distribution expansion, ERP / MIS strengthening and other Chairman-sponsored initiatives. • Monitor scope, milestones, budgets, risks, dependencies and benefits realisation, and intervene early where execution is off track.
D. Cross-functional Alignment & Issue Resolution
- Create alignment between the Chennai corporate office, manufacturing locations and market-facing teams on priorities, ownership and decision timelines. • Facilitate resolution of bottlenecks involving procurement, production planning, quality, inventory, logistics, commercial decisions, finance or people. • Clarify decision rights and responsibility matrices so issues are resolved at the right level and a culture of fact-based accountability is strengthened.
E. Chairman, Board & Leadership Support
- Prepare structured agendas, pre-reads, management papers, presentations,
minutes and decision logs for Chairman and leadership reviews. • Support preparation for Board, lender, rating agency, consultant, industry and strategic stakeholder interactions as directed by the Chairman. • Maintain an integrated governance calendar and draft executive communication, briefing notes and stakeholder messages in the Chairman's intended tone.
F. Market Intelligence & External Perspective
- Develop concise insights on commodity movements, channel trends, competitor activity, consumer preferences, regulation and other relevant industry changes, clearly separating facts from assumptions. • Support high-priority interactions with key distributors, customers, strategic partners and advisors, and ensure commitments are followed through.
G. Organisation & Leadership Effectiveness
- Partner with the Head of HR and functional leaders on organisation design, leadership KRAs, performance reviews, succession priorities and capability gaps. • Help strengthen delegation, management accountability and operating discipline, and coach initiative owners on structured problem-solving and project governance. • Support the Chairman in reviewing leadership and organisational readiness without taking over the formal responsibilities of functional heads.
H. Chairman's Office Integrity
- Maintain absolute confidentiality and provide candid, evidence-based counsel while handling sensitive strategy, financial, people and stakeholder matters. • Operate with low ego, independent judgement and a strong bias for enterprise outcomes rather than functional or individual agendas.
