Role & responsibilities

Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Hospitality & Travel Retail Business Airports, Highways, Railways & High Streets

Position Summary The CFO will be responsible for the overall financial leadership of the organization, including financial strategy, business planning, commercial controls, governance, audit, taxation, MIS, budgeting, treasury, compliance, SOP creation, ERP/system implementation, and team building.

The role requires a strong leader who can establish robust financial systems, create scalable SOPs, strengthen internal controls, improve operational efficiencies, and build a high-performing finance and commercial team across all business verticals.

The CFO will work closely with the Promoters, CEO, Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, HR, and Business Heads to drive growth, profitability, and long-term value creation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Leadership

- Develop and implement the companys financial strategy aligned with business growth plans.
- Partner with management in expansion planning across airports, highways, railways, and high streets.
- Drive long-term financial planning, profitability improvement, and capital allocation.
- Establish strong financial governance and risk management frameworks.
- Support business decisions through financial analysis and commercial insights.

2. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;)

- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
- Build outlet-wise and location-wise profitability models.

- Monitor KPIs including

- Sales per passenger

- Footfall conversion

- NOB (Number of Bills)

- APC (Average Per Customer)

- Food cost

- Labour cost

- EBITDA
- Category-wise margins
- Conduct variance analysis and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop business dashboards and MIS reports for management review.

3. Systems, SOPs & Process Development

- Design and implement strong finance and operational SOPs across departments.

- Standardize processes for

- Procurement to payment

- Store controls

- Inventory management

- Outlet cash controls

- Revenue reconciliation

- Vendor management

- Capex approvals

- Audit compliance
- Lead ERP implementation and process automation initiatives.
- Build scalable systems suitable for multi-location operations and future expansion.

Team Building & Organization Structure

- Build and lead a strong finance organization across HO and locations.
- Hire, train, mentor, and develop finance, audit, commercial, and control teams.
- Define KRAs, KPIs, reporting structures, and accountability frameworks.
- Create a culture of compliance, ownership, and operational discipline.
- Ensure cross-functional coordination between finance and operations teams.

5. Commercial & Operational Controls

- Strengthen outlet-level financial discipline and operational controls.

- Monitor

- Food cost variances

- Wastage controls

- Stock movement

- Leakage prevention

- Cash handling

- Discounts and void controls
- Store transfers and consumption controls
- Conduct periodic audits and implement corrective action mechanisms.
- Establish strong controls for concessionaire and airport commercial agreements.

6. Taxation, Compliance & Audit

- Ensure compliance with:

- GST

- TDS

- Income Tax

- Labour laws

- Companies Act

- Statutory filings
- Liaise with auditors, consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Lead internal and external audits.
- Ensure timely closure of audits and financial statements.

7. Treasury & Working Capital Management

- Manage cash flow planning and working capital efficiently.
- Optimize fund utilization and banking relationships.
- Negotiate with banks and financial institutions for funding requirements.
- Monitor debtor cycles, vendor payments, and inventory holding.

8. Expansion & Project Finance

- Evaluate recent business opportunities and expansion projects.
- Conduct financial feasibility studies and ROI analysis.
- Support project budgeting and capex planning for new outlets.
- Create scalable financial models for future business verticals.

9. Cost Optimization & Strategic Savings

- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across taxation, procurement, operations, manpower, utilities, logistics, and central overheads.




- Drive sustainable EBITDA improvement through financial discipline and operational efficiency.
- Develop outlet-wise and category-wise cost benchmarking systems.

- Monitor and optimize

- Food cost

- Packaging cost

- Labour cost

- Utility consumption
- Rental and concession-related expenses

- Maintenance expenses
- Supply chain and logistics costs
- Work closely with Operations and Purchase teams to improve vendor negotiations and procurement efficiencies.
- Establish central cost-control mechanisms across all airports and business verticals.

10. Tax Planning & Financial Efficiency

- Lead strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s tax structure while ensuring full statutory compliance.

- Identify opportunities for

- GST optimization

- Input credit maximization
- Tax-efficient business structuring

- Vendor tax compliance improvements
- Reduction in tax leakages and penalties
- Ensure efficient handling of assessments, notices, audits, and litigations.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and legal advisors for strategic financial planning.
- Develop systems to improve tax compliance accuracy and reduce financial exposure.

11. Business Profitability & Operational Efficiency

- Build financial controls focused on increasing outlet-level profitability.
- Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and operational performance to recommend business improvements.

- Create profitability models for

- Airports

- Highways

- Railways

- High street formats

- Drive initiatives for

- Waste reduction

- Yield improvement

- Menu engineering support

- Inventory optimization
- Reduction in pilferage and leakages
- Introduce data-driven decision-making and performance monitoring systems across business units.
