About The Role The role involves overseeing and managing the end-to-end import and export operations related to RPM, finished goods, equipment, and spare parts. The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely and compliant import of goods into India and the export of finished goods, while handling all associated documentation. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise in international trade, logistics, customs procedures, and freight forwarding.
The candidate will coordinate with multiple internal teams and external partners, including logistics providers, customs authorities, and shipping lines, to facilitate seamless supply chain operations. Managing costs, ensuring compliance with global and local regulations, and maintaining stakeholder communication are critical components of this role. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in international trade operations, with a focus on logistics, customs, and freight management, to support P&G;’s business continuity and growth objectives.
Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, export/import operations, customs procedures, freight forwarding, or shipping line management within related industries. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel,
is essential for reporting and analysis. A solid understanding of SAP and TMS systems is required, with basic SAP knowledge being mandatory.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary to coordinate effectively with diverse stakeholders across geographies. Candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving and cost optimization initiatives is highly desirable.
Responsibilities India Import Shipment Management & Execution:Plan and execute import shipments from various countries to India via sea and air freight, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of export-import operations and systems to facilitate seamless dispatches and documentation processing.
Monitor and oversee the performance of contractors involved in the import process, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
Maintain dispatch schedules and ensure business continuity during uncertain or fluctuating business conditions.
Operate and troubleshoot tools such as SAP and TMS for shipment tracking and documentation management.
Controls & Compliance:Engage with regional teams to uphold control requirements through regular reporting and audits.
Participate in and drive audits such as CSA and CDA to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
Conduct KPI reviews of vendors and service providers to ensure performance standards are met.
Monitor external compliance requirements across different countries, ensuring documentation and procedures meet regulatory standards.
Payments & Controls Process:Ensure timely payments to vendors involved in import activities, avoiding disruptions in the supply chain.
Update and maintain accurate records of shipments and payments in SAP and TMS systems to facilitate smooth transactions.
Cost Optimization Projects:Identify opportunities for cost savings within the import process by analyzing end-to-end activities.
Lead and execute cost reduction initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce expenses.
Communication & Coordination:Establish regular communication channels with stakeholders across different functions and geographies to ensure alignment and proactive issue resolution.
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to prevent disruptions and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
